Hello, we are currently developing a group for parents of children/teens who have suffered trauma (sexual abuse/assault). We are keen to root the group program in empirical findings to make it as relevant and effective as possible, and also to evaluate the impact of the group, for parents and children. Would be very keen to hear the outcome of your study and to link with researchers in this field.
Hi, I think it's a good idea. We have done research with young people and practitioners. The next research we want to work, more deeply, with parents and adult referents too.Our theme is CESC, with different connotations for intervention than other violence, although as we know these children are the mimes who have suffered abuse and violence when they were younger, often in family circles. Working with families is a great challenge in Chile, without too many resources and with distrust towards families, and also from families towards practitioners, since they feel judged. This often causes adults to be omitted from the intervention, and are considerde as risk factors. Well, you can count on us in what we can contribute.
