I make this question due to my concern about all of the advance that has been made on the field of biofuels, and i wanted to know if that kind of fuels can be used in machines that are used all around the world

Aviation biofuel is a biofuel used for aircraft. It is considered by some to be the primary means by which the aviation industry can reduce its carbon footprint. After a multi-year technical review from aircraft makers, engine manufacturers and oil companies, biofuels were approved for commercial use in July 2011. Since then, some airlines have experimented with using biofuels on commercial flights.The focus of the industry has now turned to second generation sustainable biofuels (sustainable aviation fuels) that do not compete with food supplies nor are major consumers of prime agricultural land or fresh water. NASA has determined that 50% aviation biofuel mixture can cut air pollution caused by air traffic by 50-70%
Qantas works hard to improve its fuel efficiency, and the next logical step in creating a more sustainable industry is to encourage the development of aviation biofuel.
Unlike fossil fuels, biofuels can be created sustainably. We've already made Australia's first commercial biofuel flight, and now we're using our landmark Qantas Future Planet research to promote and develop the widespread use of aviation biofuel.
To be acceptable for commercial use, aviation biofuel must:
Be certified in accordance with the aviation industry's stringent safety and performance requirements;
Achieve a material reduction in lifecycle carbon emissions compared to traditional fossil-based jet fuel and meet comprehensive sustainability criteria, such as Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) certification; and
Be a 'drop-in' alternative to traditional fossil-based jet fuel to avoid costly redesign of engines, airframes or fuel delivery systems.
Relative to fossil fuels, sustainably produced biofuels result in a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions across their life cycle (illustrated in the diagram below).
