Use BLAST and Adenylation domain sequence as a query to identify bacteria or fungi containing a NRPS PKS cluster and analyse the genes using these two software which also predict the substrate, giving a rough idea of the possible product..
I was using Clustscan before few days... it annalyse only one contig at a time... several WGS (Whole genome sequence) contain More than 250-300 contigs... how to analyse these contigs in single run......
That's why I said do a BLAST search for adenylation domain and use clustscan for the analysis of the positive contigs only that will come in the BLAST hits. This way the contigs negative for NRPS cluster will filter out. Similarly for PKS do a BLAST search for acyltransferases
