Should you send a thank you letter after a Job Interview to a potential Employer even when you are not sure if you will be selected ? What is your position on this ? It's OK. But I don't buy this idea. If you're indeed qualify for the position, you'll surely be called. It sounds degrading to me!
You can say thank you during the Job Interview but I do not recommend sending email after the interview.

I do not think a thank you letter is required after an interview, as you would have been assessed during the interview, and would have definitely thanked the interviewers before leaving.

It might be depend on the country. Here in the US, job counselors highly advice sending a thank you email after the job interview. Other country might be different.

If you want to emphasize a subordinate attitude, then of course you have to write. The second option, if you are not satisfied by the interview, and you want to leave the last word for yourself. But why? Every action has a purpose. What is the purpose of this letter? You want to demonstrate that they were wrong?
It seems to me that the interview is a check of the candidate’s compliance with the company's requirements. As a rule, in addition to the applicant, the interview should be attended by the head of the HR department, the head of the target department and a potential direct manager (if this is a serious company). But this is not limit. I participated in an interview (on the part of the employer), where there were 6 people - and then, already without the applicant, everyone expressed own opinion. And this is normal practice if the company is really looking for a specialist. What, should you write to everybody? In addition, not only does the company verify the candidate’s compliance, but the candidate himself sees and estimate people with whom he will work. Once, after an interview (already as a contender), I realized that I could not work with these people. Although at that moment it seemed to me that there was no alternative (but I'm not an enemy to myself), very soon I found a much more interesting job (and, as a bonus, with a higher salary). Not to write to them about the reasons (I was not satisfied with their approach to the main activity), this will not change them, but set I the goal to “put their brains on right place”, I would agree to work with them.

A thank you message is quite essential at least to express oneself gratitude for giving the opportunity to express and share ones idea and knowledge, but it is better expressed vocally to the interviewers immediately after the interview.

This is a welcome idea to appreciate the organization for such opportunity. But this must be done in a simple and sincerity of mind. Though some country which such is not in their practise may see it as means of influencing their decision.
