I suggest that you check this in simulation, because the correct answer to your question could be either way depending on specifics of the drive and the fuzzy logic torque controller !

There are fuzzy torque controllers that can influence the current ripple favorably, but then there are others that don't !

Difficult to generalise.

Thank you sanjoy. My MATLAB simulation gives a lesser torque ripple for a PV fed induction motor drive with FLC when compared with the same system with a PID controller.

Both PID and FLC are equally good in controls, its the application which brings the better of it.

If PID is tuned well enough the there is probability that the torque ripple may come down. Not necessarily use PID instead use PI alone etc.

Fuzzy is based on logics, the if.... then...... rules. It all relates to no. of MFs, Rules, etc. more the MFs better the output will be. wrt rules provided.

If you really want to compare. do it with PID and PID-Fuzzy.

For MATLAB simulations upon comparing Fuzzy consumes a lot of time and PID's are easier.

You can finalize your results by quoting.." Subjected to specified conditions FLC is better than PID in your exp."

It cannot be generalized.

Thank you Paul for your suggestions, Since the number of constrains set were limited we did not find simulating Fuzzy controller a time consuming one. PID-Fuzzy is yet to be simulated and analyzed.

The output cannot be generalised. The only way to know which of the controllers offer better result is through simulation. Any of the two controllers could yield better results
