If do so, then you will have the difficulty of the washing of Na itself!
Because sodium has a great peak in FTIR and it shows sodium remain in you product and it will effect your grophene oxide.
I think that washing with deionised water is suitable to approach neutral pH sufficiency without affecting GO surface. Consecutive Washing/filtration or washing/centrifugation processes may be take a long time.

Dear Hassan Alshamsi, but I have washed through deionised water several times (i.e., 6 to 8 times), even then, the PH was around 3.5. this can't be used for cellular studies right??

As you know, the washig of graphene oxide is the most time-consuming process of the graphene oxide production. We do washing process in order to increase pH to neutral ph (around 6-6.5), however, by adding of NaOH, your process will be more time-consuming than the main process,I think.
We have produced GO by modified Hummers and washing of the product was done by de-ionised water 4 times and 2 times by Ethanol. The ph increased to 6 easily.
