According to the CDC, the UK variant has an unusually large number of mutations -- 14 changes and 3 deletions in its genetic code that impact the building blocks of its proteins. This virus has 17 unique mutations that haven't been seen elsewhere, which is really unusual. New strain of COVID-19, could slow U.S. vaccination efforts.

Dear Akm Shahidur Rahman, the new 'strain' is the results of mutations that didn't touched the essential components (targets) where the vaccines act. So, they are still active. This is what I heared in the media from experts. My Regards

This new variation of the coronavirus has an unusually high number of mutations. It differs significantly from other existing lines, with 17 mutations and changes in the genome. Within the Spike protein, there are even 8. Three of them could have an impact on the biology of the virus. The UK CoG-UK report indicates that at present there is no reason to believe that any of the mutations mentioned will affect vaccine efficacy.

I would just like to make one small clarification:
The new variant has mutations in the S protein that is targeted by the three main vaccines. However, the vaccines produce antibodies that target many regions of the S protein, so it is unlikely that a single change would make the vaccine less effective.

The vaccine can be given and the dosage has to be increased . It will take some time to get back normalcy. The recent vaccine is effective and good.

The new UK variant of COVID-19 - which is up to 70% more transmissible – is more deadly than the original virus and associated with a higher degree of mortality. But the evidence shows that the current vaccines remain effective against the old COVID-19 variant and the new one.
