Has the time at which satellite image taken got importance in quantifying morphological behavior of a river? If so, which season is best for analyzing the same for Indian scenarios?
P.S. Please share a supporting document if possible.
Time at which image being taken does affects the quantifying morphological behavior of a river. it is always better to take the images of river when there is low flow. during the high flows or during the rainy season flood plain may be largely covered with the vegetation which may lead to difficult to mark the flood plain left or right bank of the river. moreover when there is full flow Bathemetry also bit erroneous due to refraction.
