In general, I don't think that you can win anything from narrowing your field of study at this point in your career. However, in your particular case, changing from aerospace engineering to control systems engineering would mean to widen the scope of your research, not to narrow it.

This is very hard to tell, I can't. However, while I admit that it is a good idea to choose a field that is expected to prosper over the next decades, I recommend that first and foremost you should choose a field that you love. Only then is there any chance for you to excel in what you do - he who chooses his field solely out of necessity usually cannot compete with the freaks and enthusiasts around him.
I concur with what @Gunther has written. I would add to what has already been said that control engineering has greater attraction because it has more applications. And an interest in control engineering suggests the more promising direction for you.
