Will amine group interfere with conversion of carboxylic acid to amine in case of Schmidt reaction?

I have an amine group and carboxylic acid groups in the molecule and I want to convert it to diamine by using Schmidt reaction.

I can guess thaz the amine can act as nucleophile and attack the isocyanate intermediate to give the corresponding urea that would not undergo the conversion to carbamate.....

If is the case protection would be necessesary..
