Why would methylene blue chloride (in a solution of glutaraldehyde) recrystallize?

After removing marine cell culture media (3x L-15/ saline solution [1:1], hemolymph, and antibiotic). The purpose of the methylene blue and glutaraldehyde is to fix and stain cells, but wild crystals show up and I have to dissolve them with a 10% methanol solution and then it is fine. But we are trying to figure out what is causing the crystallization... :/ I figure that a chemist might be able to help point me in the right direction to figure this out...
