Why we use vectors in differential evoluiton algorithm..According to my point of view a vector is a which whose contain some magnitude and direction... but in this case a value which is generated in random during initail population . How this value determine direction?
very simply you look to 'vector' as set of parameters to describe quantity. if single parameter is sufficient - it is scalar. if more parameters are required - it is vector.
e.g. temperature- single value ( degree Cecilius)
point in space -at (x,y,z) vector.
if we are considering all parameter values simultaneously in our algorithm, it is vector based algorithms.
in your case a value which is generated in random during initail population is it a single value or sequence or set of values for each parameter? if many values are generated (even initially) we need to consider it as vector and if required determine direction value(s).
