Dear professors,

We study the cement paste containing marble powder (MP) as replacement by SEM analysis, the results showed that the use of MP up to 10% led to increase the percentage of Ca and to decrease the percentage of Si, Fe, Al in cement paste compared to the control, whereas when use MP with 15% as replacement the results obtained indicate that the percentage of Ca was decreased and the percentage of Fe, Al was increased by comparison with cement paste containing MP from 5% to 10% .

With 0% MP

Ca 30.12%

Si 10.78%

Fe 4.92%

Al 2.72%

With 5% MP

Ca 32.26%

Si 9.22%

Fe 3.52%

Al 2.12%

With 10% MP

Ca 34.05%

Si 8.99%

Fe 3.05%

Al 1.76%

With 15% MP

Ca 31.84%

Si 8.75%

Fe 3.87%

Al 2.35%

The main question is why the use of MP as cement replacement with 15% led to obtain on cement paste the percentage mass of Ca lower and the Fe, Al higher than others on cement paste containing 5% to 10% of MP ?
