Hi, I am in a problem with this matter. When Masking or Clipping a DEM file and Landsat image with the same shape file in ArcGis, this shows different column and row numbers in the properties for DEM and Landsat composite or land cover map.
The same Column and Row number is required for many modelling aspects.. Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

Md Sarowar Hossain Hello, I and not familiar with ArcGis given that I use QGIS mainly. However, I have experienced a similar issue and I think it is due to the variation in resolution of these images. For instance, the theoretical resolution for Landsat 7 or 8 is 30m but, when acquired you may get a resolution of 26.x to about 28.x. Likewise for the DEM. SRTM 1" Arc (meaning 30m resolution) would differ. As such, the Rows and Columns even if clipped by the same mask would differ. There might be other reasons but, this is one of the reasons for the differences.

You need to adjust both raster files in one SRC and make sure they have the same spatial resolution before cutting with the vector file (which can be shapefile).
These informed steps do not guarantee success in clipping. Because? because pixels may not match spatially (precise spatial coincidence). In this case, spatial adjustment or geostatistical interpolation and formation of new raster layers (Landsat and DEM) with the same spatial characteristics, xmin, ymin, xmax, ymax, spatial resolution and pixel size should be performed.

I agree with the two answers given already, the difference is most likely due to two differing resolutions between the two rasters. Pick a resolution suitable for your modelling procedure/research question and then either interpolate or aggregate, or better still try and download the DEM at the same resolution as your Landsat data.

Before Clipping or Masking The Landsat And DEM Raster Images should be refined to a specific resolution (as needed) with the resample tool or spatial interpolation tool (In Arcgis). After then the masked file will be in same row and column properties.
