The light has the effect of shifting the IV curve

To understand this question first you need to know the IV curve,

Normally people use IV curve to exam the electrical characterization of device. So if you conducting a IV curve with the diode without no light, the curve will just pass the origin. but with the light, you will find the curve is shifting to the negative axis because it's create current. So you will find solar cell experiment showing current shifting like that.
