Hi all! I simulate the Urea reactor including carbamate and urea formation reaction. We all know that overall heat of that is exothermic and in real life is 190C at outlet. However, I found that the temperature decrease from 130 inlet to 70 at outlet. I use the kinetic equation in report attached below. Why that happen?
Please check the stage wise temperature and the composition of your mixture in the reactor. Check if the reaction is going in the right direction. Validate the input and output parameters with the article or any data that you have. If all the parameters are fine and the reaction is going in the right direction as well then there is problem in your kinetics. Oh Thank you sir! I found that the temperature is incorrect because of the lack of Heat formation of carbamate in Package (HYSYS). I see that you use Kinetic reaction to simulate the Urea reactor, I fail to reach the conversion needed by using Sub-model in Urea Example (Aspen Plus). Can you help me about that?
