An increase in sorption potential with rise of temperature may due to increase of  surface coverage  and creation of reactive and active sites.

You must to study the effect of  temperature on soil properties, by temperature increasing soil might be chemically change, along with the adsorption sites number  and their   activity.

The adsorption processes are generally in exothermic nature. However, the possible reason for the increase in adsorption capacity with temperature is due to following reasons.

1. If the adsorption phenomenon is controlled by the mass transfer diffusive resistance, then the temperature may enhance the randomness of the adsorbate molecules and facilitates the adsorption process.

2. With the increase in temperature, there may be a possibility of the breakage of the cracks and pores on the surface and leads to provide more active sites for adsorption. it also depends on the size of the adsorbate molecule and pore diameter of the adsorbent.

3. As above said the rise in temperature will increase the activation energy if the adsorption is categorised as chemisorption.

Can you elaborate the term "mass transfer diffusive resistance". It will be of great help to me.

The mass transfer diffusive resistance is when adosrbate molecules get adsorbed on the soil surface or inside the pores on the adsorbent then for the transfer of adsorbate molecules the resistance is offered by the solid adosorbent structure. Then that resistance becomes rate controlling and may affect the adsorption phenomenon adversely. I hope it will b cleared to you.
