I would like to know what is the criteria for the choice of Pd catalyst in suzuki coupling, especially in polymerisation reactions, as Pd(OAc)2 seems to be used in regular nitrogen conditions, whereas Pd(PPh3)4 requires much more rigorous anhydrous conditions such as glove box and schlenk line based on various reports. Thank you.

Thanks Robert, so everyone should use Pd(OAc)2 instead of the unstable Pd(PPh3)4 ..right..? But many reports are seen with Pd(PPh3)4 under highly inert conditions. So it is confusing.

It depends upon the reactants and the formation of the desired prouducts. Any other Pd(II) can also be used. Obviously the catalytic system with best yield of the desired product in more favourable condition will predominate.......
