I was trying to find alpha, beta and gamma diversities in the Brock biology of microorganisms book, but there is no such info in. Similarly, I could not find evenness and richness phrases. I have a question where/ in what sources can I find these info?
These are indeed important indices and concepts to understand and master, specfically if you're researching microbial ecology and populations.
Luckily, you can find very good reading material in papers- search for instance 'microbial ecology indices' in Google Scholar. From one very good paper, you can find others- for instance from the reference section of that paper. Lastly, Wikipedia has some very good explanatinos about the different kinds of diversity indices, with reference to scientific papers that you should be able to acess. Good luck!
The alpha, beta and gamma are classes of Proteobacteria so can be found in that section as alphaproteobacter etc. They are most definitely in Brock, Chapter 16 of the 15th edition.
Evenness and richness refer to the distribution of species in a community. You can search on the terms Species Evenness or Species Richness on the internet.
Mehrdad Rabiei You can not find those terminologies in the book because they are not the terminologies of microbial biology and the book focuses on biology of microbes. Those terminologies are related to microbial ecology and population/community studies together with statistical analysis.

alpha, beta and gamma are classes of proteobacteria, they are not found separately but they are the alphaProteobacteria, the betaproteobacteri and the gammaproteobacteria.

If you are arguing about alpha, beta and gamma diversity term related to proteobacteria, what would you call delta and epsilon ?
Please do not confuse Mehrdad Rabiei among the diversity criteria (alpha, beta and gamma diversity) with classes of proteobacteria (class - alpha, beta, gamma, delta and epsilon)
