Why Sieder-Tate correlation for predicting heat transfer coefficient for tube side fluid under laminar flow is more widely used than Hausen and Stephan correlations ?
Sieder-Tate equation are widely used because it takes into account viscosity of fluid hence can be used for conditions involving wide temperature differences, with better accurate results compared to other correlations like Hausen and Stephan correlations which are good for very low velocity fluid, low temperature gradient flow since it does not consider variations in properties like viscosity of fluid.
