I have made a aqueous solution of PVA first with water, and mix this solution with my concern metal salt. it cannot turn to fiber, even I use the pristine solution of PVA with DI water, concentration was about 7% and I also tried with 10%. The only fiber I got once I added TEOS in the solution, As I have done it before.

Now I want to make fiber without any addition of TEOS, or If I add TEOS, and make a fiber, then How to remove amorphous silica nanoparticles after making carbonize fiber?

Try measuring the PH of the water you dissolve the PVA in, I did have a similar experience trying to dissolve PVA in water only to discover that PVA which is freely soluble in water would not dissolve. We then discovered that there where fluctuations in the PH of the water we were using.
Adeyinka Aina thanks for reply. I am using de-ionized water, well I will see its PH but I think it is dissolve already as its look like a homogeneous solution. what should be the value of PH for this concern?
I used to add slight amount of oxalic acid in the mixture in my earlier experiments. is that acidic medium is favorable for sol-gel method for making spin dope?
