I have a problem regarding the interface between a rotating and static cell zone. Which settings do i need to adjust in Fluent to have a correct simulation? The case is pretty simple. I have a rotating cell zone which update based on calculation made in UDF dynamic mesh.
I set both the rotating and static domain as fluid zone.the problem ,there is pressure different at the border between rotating and static zone as the circle domain start to rotate.I only set airfoil as the wall.supposed there is only pressure on the airfoil as fluid interact with wall (airfoil).
for dynamic mesh,the airfoil and rotating domain was set as rigid body and both the node position will update simultaneously at each time step.
the velocity was set at the left side and pressure outlet at the right side on the static cell zone.
can anybody help ..
Firstly, if you are going to oscillate or rotate the rotating domain, you do not need the dynamic meshing and it will be easy to use Sliding mesh interface.
Regarding the problem in pressure, as you said you have two cell zone, I guess that you have to make an non-conformal interface between them to make the flow pass through and to obtain a reasonable pressure distribution.

Pressure - static or total (static + dynamic)?
If you mean total pressure -> make sure you're calculating it in the same reference frame (stationary of rotating).
If the two mesh zones are at their interface only week coupled, it will take multiple iterations in order to converge to having almost the same pressure at the interface between the two meshes. This means some information in time is not physical or time steps must be repeated.
From the contour, it looks that the pressure of the inner zone is correct. it is higher at the lower half of the circle.
The pressure of the outer zone has a lower values at the lowest section of the contour which seems incorrect.
I expect the highest pressure of both zone should be in the lower half of the contour.
if you compare the values of highest pressure (the red values) from the inner and outer zones, it mat help you to change the setting of the problem.

I already solved this problem by set periodic boundary condition and also set the interface between those two domains in the 'mesh interface'.
after about 500 time steps,I can see no pressure at the border between the domains.
The velocity is allowed to enter the circle domain and pressure only exist at the airfoil(wall)
