Personally, I find museums a bit boring, but I understand that not everyone feels the same. Some people really enjoy visiting museums, and I just want to understand why—what they like about them and what attracts them the most.

Let me suggest that you find only those museums boring that you have visited so far. There are different kinds of museums with a myriad of topics and scenographic twists, and there is at least one museum in the world that you will find exciting.
As a child, I found most museums boring and even exhausting as they were a "must-see" (I am from Moscow), and the museum guides sounded too monotonous for me, and I thought something was wrong with me because my schoolmates seemed to enjoy our museum tours and visits. After starting my studies in museology at the university, I visited a museum in Salamanca, Spain, where I spent 4 hours and they had to ask me to leave as the museum was closing. That experience sparked a different impression in me, and I began to explore why. Today, both personally and professionally, I enjoy visiting all the museums, and to reach that point, I have had to visit and professionally study and analyze many of them. As a visitor, I do not usually come to see objects or the collections, but the ideas that curators use to connect those objects into storylines. And there are visitors who, unlike me, enjoy more objects and collections and do not care that much about the ideas connecting them.
I would say that you should not overgeneralize and assume there are many people who like all museums and find them all interesting. Today, if the topics of temporary or permanent exhibitions do not resonate with visitors' background knowledge or interests, then they might have a bad experience. If you are interested in understanding why people enjoy museums, I recommend exploring articles and books with keywords "museum experience" or "visitor experience".
