Why number of states does not get reduced when power system stabilizer is deleted from the Model developed in MATLAB/Simulink?

I am working on the small-signal stability of the SMIB system. I want to find the oscillation frequency and damping ratio without and with the power system stabilizer. When I removed the PSS from the MATLAB Simulink model, the number of states of the system remained the same with the PSS.

If anybody has encountered the same issues or has any ideas, please help me by responding to my question.
