Ca doped LaInO3 samples were synthesized using solid state reaction method. 5mol%Ca shows maximum red shift(3cm-1) for 180cm-1 band. With further doping, lesser red shift is obtained. Also, The lattice volume is increased at 5mol%Ca in LaInO3. With further doping, the lattice volume decreases uniformly upto 15mol%Ca doped LaInO3?
Dear sir,
I don't know for this particular material but generally speaking we can think about 4 major reasons for a redshift in Raman bands :
- strain/stress effect : red or blue shift depending on a Gruneisen parameter
- disorder effect : depending on the phonon dispersion curve
- decrease of the bond force constant
- confinement effect : observed in nanoparticles
