Why is nitrofurazon used in combination with urea for prevention of uterine infections associated with retained placenta, metritis, cervicitis etc?

Nitrofurazon is more active at acidic pH, but it is used in combination with urea for prevention of uterine infections. The urea increases the pH of the environment, so I want to know how the combination of both nitrofurazon with urea is effective in uterine infection.
