The status said ready and i injected the sample. After run time of 38 mins at 250 degrees celcius using FID the report came out blank with just a horizontal line.
Also how can i produce a calibration curve in order to determine composition of my sample eg characterization of biodiesel
Dear Hellen, you should provide more data. Are you sure you have no leaks in the inlet or at detector level? is the pressure constant? are you sure you are injecting? (the needle could be sealed) Are you running on split or splitless mode? in the first case, verify the split. If you provide more information we will be more accurate in the answers.

José Sánchez del Pulgar Thank you...there are no leaks on both levels...the needle is indeed injecting and i am running on split mode. The GC takes time to stabilize or sometimes only the make up gas (N2) is at the set flow rate. The temperature also drops as well as the detectr heater. When the status finally says ready the peaks produced after analysis are more of noise and not results sometimes its a flatline. I tried loading a new method but the results are not satisfactory still.
