Human computer interaction is critical to the acceptance and advancement of computing as history has shown numerous times. In the early days with main frames, computer time was considered more valuable than human and non-interactive, but the PC set this straight. The mobility of the computer is now the most recent revolution and a huge stride forward, so what is the next? It would seem to me that it is computer vision to augment human reality, but perhaps more importantly, to capture it in the box so it can be re-rendered to provide the next big jump forward. Vision is at least as important to human evolution as language, tools and mobility. Can a computer see like a human, can the CV Turing test be passed, and where does this rank in overall importance to computing?
