I thought the channel width is important , so why the channel length was mentioned in these paper?it seems channel length play on important role.am I right?
The model was constructed to represent prototype of a Broken-Back culvert with a vertical drop of 18 feet. Thus, 18 feet corresponds to the vertical drop in the prototype.
The developed length (horizontal length of the model) of the channel is the sum of 68.4 inches which represented the horizontal length of the open channel flow (slope 1% ) and 21.6 inches corresponding to the horizontal length of the upstream steep sloped flume.
The basin has a length calculated so as to fully receive the hydraulic jump. But this length is not included in the relationships governing the hydraulic jump. It corresponds to at least the length of the hydraulic jump which depends on the inflow Froude number.
Hi, i really appreciate your attention. As a matter of fact, i am doing library research on vertical drop. Do you find this subject important and recommend it for a ms student thesis?
I want to go deeply to one subject in this area, however, i am not sure hydraulics of flow at vertical drop with dissipaters in supercrtical flow the best and important subject
