I synthesis ZnSe thin film using electrochemical deposition. Can anyone tell me why why I can not get ZnSe peaks? My electrolyte is ZnSO4+Seo4+H2O, PH=2-3 and bath temperature is 60-70C. The deopsition potential was -0.6V, -0.7V, -0.5V.
Hello. If your thin film is too thin XRD will not see it. The penetration of X-ray is approximately 1microm so most all your information comes from the substrate which in your case I understand it to be ITO. To see something with regular XRD you need to make your film thicker. Other problems may involve close proximity with bragg reflection peaks of your film with respect to peaks from substrate. Wish this helps you some. Cheers.
Have you post-annealed this film? If not, then you simply have a mixture of the components you've electrospun, which is why you do not detect ZnSe. Use the known phase diagram for these materials. Determine the necessary annealing temperatures for ZnSe. Since you are trying to eliminate the oxygen, you will need to perform the anneal either in an inert (argon, or possibly nitrogen) or reducing (forming gas, something with hydrogen) environment.
