Beginning with the jelly fish, which is among the earliest living organisms, up to the human species, the flow of food material inside the organism is unidirectional. Why has evolution not seen an alternate system? No other living systems stand on two legs, except the human species. Should not evolution have been different in the case of the latter?
Consider the evolution of the jellyfish, which many consider to be the first living form. Its nourishment (food) came from seawater flow through its body; this flow of food material was unidirectional, which perhaps shaped (determined) the location of its mouth and its waste disposal port, as the jellyfish evolved. In all organisms evolved so far, the mouth (entry port), stomach, intestine, exhaust, have been in a linear arrangement with the processing of food material being a unidirectional flow, as if on a conveyer belt.
All living forms so far, except us, stand on four legs. But we, the homo sapiens, stand on two legs. Should not the food line have been different in our case, or are we in a transition to a different shape in the future? Perhaps, this transition phase will last some hundred million years!
