i have synthesized titanium dioxide with sol gel process and before we test it we should carry out adsorption test ......and the polutant model is rhodamine 6g with inicial concentration of 20ppm.
with my photocatalyst the duration of adsorption test is 30 minutes before i strat photocatalytic test.
the first test I left the catalyst with the pollutant in the shelter of the light for 30 minutes and the concentration is 13 ppm.
the second test I left the catalyst with the pollutant in the shelter of the light for 30 minutes and the concentration is 19 ppm.
why i have this diffrents results ? is there any problem in time of adsoption ??

If the temperature and the light intensity are same in your both tests, this difference may goes back to the error caused while testing (weight of catalyst, sampling, measurement....), in addition if you using a powder form of your catalyst, mixing speed also makes the difference.....

I suggest you you use a light of constant intensity for all test. Secondly make sure other parameters like pH, temperature, agigation speed are constant.
The variables ( temperature, pressure, mixing speed) are all kept constant I suppose to make adsorption test for four hours to know the real time of adsorption equilibrium.
Secondly I suppose that the UV-VIS spectrometer give me false values since the absorbance of R6G (20ppm) is superior of 1.2 (beerlambert law) ..?

Weight of catalyst,temperature and agitation speed could be the factors which you should check and repeat the experiment.
