I am trying to fabricate the SnO2 layer for the perovskite solar cell. I followed the recipe in papers by mixing 1ml SnO2 colloidal solution (15% in water, Sigma) with 4ml DI water, and stirred for 12h. But after spin-coating on ITO, I still could not get a smooth SnO2 layer. There are some dots on the surface and some discontinuous areas. May I ask if I missed any part here?
Dear Jinze Cai, make sure you have a clean ITO substrate since most defects while spin coating arises from a lack of clean substrate..you can clean your substrate in acetone, IPA, and DI water using a bath sonicator and follow by UVO treatment...Good Luck!

I think UVO treatment of the glass before the spin-coating is essential. Moreover, let the SnO2 solution rest for some time after the stirring, and taking the top solution when doing the spin-coating can help.
