I find out that mostly papers talking about fatigue behavior (including fatigue life, fatigue strength, fatigue crack initiation, and propagation, etc.) are under fully reversed cycling scope. However, I believe there are a lot of components are suffering tension fatigue loading, i.e. stress ratio is positive or zero. To my best knowledge, the S-N curve and other aspects of fatigue behavior under this kind loading are not widely investigated for metals, can someone tell me why?
