Dear all, I am using XFEM to simulate crack initiation and propagation process, but according to the ABAQUS document, some features are not supported by ABAQUS CAE, such as
*SURFACE, TYPE=XFEM
Checking the *SURFACE keyword in the document, I couldn't find where to put this keyword in the inp file. Should I put it above *ASSEMBLY? or another position?
Could someone tell me where to find the instruction about keywords positioning?

*SURFACE keyword level is Part, Part instance, Assembly. It seems that for XFEM it should be inside *ASSEMBLY.

Yes, keyword position does matter. In the case of incorrect position, Abaqus gives an error message with explanation of reason.
