i run my calculations in fluent in my desktop and i let work then the next day i come to the laboratory and i found that the fluent window has been closed so then the simulation. if you've any idea why is this happening.
There may be power break or you need to set your desktop as standby mode as some time the simulation does not work on back ground. You also need to check your mesh very, there may divergence in cause of simulation which may results in the stoppage.
actually, when i run the simulation and i still working in my desktop it works and it doesn't stop. however when i let the simulation working and i put my desktop as standby mode it works but after some hours it stops.
Perhaps, there are floating problems that you need to figure out. Typically, I have installed with 3 million nodes mesh but the laptop capacity and license that my lab allows is limited to less than 1 million nodes mesh like with Ansys. Furthermore, the ability of the chip to process with RAM as mentioned in the comments above.
actually, when i run the calculations and i still working with my desktop fluent didn't stop, but when i went home and le my desktop on standby mode, fluent stops after a few hours...i think it's related to settings of my desktop but i don't know where.
It is also possible that your computer is managed by a laboratory for safety reasons and to save energy. After a period of inactivity, it will automatically lock the device and put it into low-performance sleep mode
In normal, you have to request to edit your computer's auto lock time with the admin or IT department of your school or research institute. So they can adjust it to never sleep or lock mode. If this is the default and cannot be adjusted, then I ask them to install TeamViewer with an existing license so that I can use and control the wake-up of my computer remotely and continuously.
