Can anyone explains that why drift current is independent of the bias voltage?

I thought the drift current is dependent on the bias voltage. The drift current equation tells us that the drift current is dependent on number of carriers, carrier mobilities and Electric field. Since electric field is dependent on the bias voltage, then how come the drift current is independent of the bias voltage?
