I saw XRD peaks for HCP metals like Zn, Mg, Ti, Zr. Among them, the growth of (101) plane was noticeable for Zn and Mg, but (002) plane was noticeable for Ti and Zr.
I'm wondering why dose (101)planes for Ti and Zr grow more than (002). because the (002)plane is the close-packed plane in HCP(so, signify a high surface energy), Shouldn't the (002) grow more than the (101)?
Is it related to the melting point of HCP materials? ( Zn = 419.5℃, Mg = 650℃, Ti = 1,668℃ and Zr = 1,855℃)
