Dear people,

As a part of modelling a Li-ion battery using its pulse testing data, it seems that a 2 RC equivalent circuit is sufficient to fit the (Voltage vs time) curve well.

Hence a mathematical model representing the 2RC circuit purely by equations was constructed in Simulink. It fits the data with very less error.

Just to double check the fitting accuracy, a physical model consisting of R and C components was constructed in SIMSCAPE to represent the 2RC circuit. This physical model also fits the data pretty well, but the error (RMSE) is nearly 3 folds higher than that of the mathematical model.

I am really puzzled about the reason for this error variation. Is it a common thing happening or should the models be re looked?
