Normally one can found orifice with buffer volume/reservoir as phase shifter in low frequency crycoolers like GM Cryocooler and GM Type pulse tube cryocooler. But in Stirling type pulse tube cryocooler, intertance tube is preferred over orifice-buffer? What is the reason?
As phase shifter intertance tube gives the large range of phase angle beetween pressure and mass flow rate at cold end compare to orifice that leads to increase mass flow rate at cold end and ultimately the colling capacity. Other one is high frequency of cooler.
@Rajendra Kumar, I think in orifice mode there is no question of loop generation and hence no DC flow generation. Second frequency has nothing to do with DC flow. It is the loop created in Double Inlet mode that is responsible for the DC flow.
