While performing edge detection there is requirment of computing modulus maxima of sub band coefficient. how do i calculate modulus maxima??

i am using wavelet transform for edge detection in SAR images. after obtaining the SWT i need to calculate modulus maxima of the sub band coefficient obtained..how do i calculate it??
