i agree with Zaid Imad Zaini about spices eating, because spices increased immunity, and that may be the only different thing characterized India from the other nations.
I have one hypothesis that those who are regulary drinking milk have less chances to seek corona. What do you think? As Italians seem the case who are not drinking milk so much.
I read that Greece is doing well regarding the discipline. The number of infected still 2235 even in my country which is relatively small we already have 1326 case of COVID-19
India is overcrowded and mostly in poor sanitation, COVID-19 should be easily infected and communicable. Probably the government has not recorded all of them.
Well I noticed that your question was about India and nobody from India had participated or answered so I thought to follow the discussion which was dated March and the April. But now we are about to set foot into June and the situation is different from what it began as. So lets just say every country has its own curve and when it peaks is unique to the socioepidemiological factors, demography and cultural practices of that region. Also the strain of the virus, whether it has mutated or changed it s virulence etc may decide in addition to herd immunity of course. All these factors in addition to how much testing is being done, data reporting and real time monitoring being carried out would give the true reflection of the situation. There are hotspots in the country , and there are states which have succeeded in containing the spread. But overall there is an increase and that is the natural history of any outbreak/pandemic. It sweeps across continents , taking it own time to peak. Its just a matter of time.
You asked this question on March 20, 2020. Today is 24 of September, 2020. I think in terms of numbers, India is second in the world. India has about 5700000 people who are infected and the numbers are jumping everyday.
But lets not forget that India is a country with the second largest population in the world. So if we express the number of the patients as a percentage of the total population, then probably India has one of the lowest rates. Also in the rate of getting cured, India is one of the highest in the world. Its one of those countries which has still now kept itself away from the pandemic. Yes, in the Indian context you can say that it is an epidemic. Its mighty serious. Numbers are huge but percentages are abruptly low.
There is a lot of research being pursued about this still now. Probably the basic immunity level of people in this country are very high. Its not really because of the spices in the diet. Probably the genes are playing a role here. Its a country which is almost ten thousand years old. In these years, surely there have been epidemics and pandemics. But this civilization has been able to overcome those. The genes have a say on this.
