Hi, everyone.Recently, I want to change the acid buffer capacity of soil or soil colloid by using FeSO4. But I don't understand why do researchers use ferrous sulfate instead of ferric sulfate or sulfuric acid solution to reduce soil acid buffering capacity? What is the difference between ferrous and iron ions? What are the advantages of using ferrous sulfate solution?

I look forward to your answers and help, thank you!
