Does anyone know why ANSYS HFSS produce non-uniform mesh on spherical objects? Also the aspect ratio of the tetrahedral elements is big! Please see the attachment
Greetings, such non uniform mesh refinement not only occurs at spherical objects, but also with every object realized in HFSS does experience the same.
This is a fairly standard algorithm for creating an unstructured tetrahedral mesh, implemented in many programs, not only in HFSS. Is it possible to create a structured mesh? Yes! But vendors are very conservative and don't want to implement new meshing techniques.
The only solution at the moment is to draw the segmented geometry yourself, then the mesh will be symmetrical, at least on the outer surface.
