Why do we use Artificial Neural Network in Structural equation modeling?

Usually, we use structural equation modeling to set a model with successive confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis. Recently, it is seen that ANN is also added to the analysis along with the SEM. Can you please help me explain why should I use ANN or what is the specific value it can bring in the usual SEM analysis?
