Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, around 300,000 people worldwide died in about 4 months. Due to hunger and hunger-related diseases, around 3,000,000 people died worldwide in the same period (about 4 months), i.e. we had about 10 times more starvation deaths than for COVID 19. Still, the COVID 19 pandemic is, after all, a natural event while hunger and hunger-related diseases, taking into account that in the world there is a significant food waste, can not be called natural.
Hello doctor, because of this there is a need for moral and ethical commitment.
At the risk of sounding cynical, it may be because hunger is strictly speaking, not contagious. If COVID19 is treated with the same levity as we treat acute hunger in many parts of the world, many of the leaders would be dead. Anything that could potentially affect world leaders and politicians, just like the common man, will be taken seriously.
Indeed hunger is a big curse, however., by ignoring Corona-19 the hunger cannot be overcome. I think before hunger, we need life. If we have life, so we could have hungers and many other starvations, but we have to struggle and overcome it.

This fuss on vivtims of corona because the virus comes to the the poor and the wealthy equally.Hunger comes to the poor only.The rich should realize that money cannot save them.They do see this but unfortunately they are unwilling to make a change by helping
others.They need to get rid of their
apathy.They don't see that corona is sent to make such people get scared and consequently think deeply of a positive change!!
Indeed, hunger caused by extreme poverty kills millions of people around the world every year especially the children. Chronic diseases also kill millions each year and more than the deaths caused by Covid-19. I think that this great media force in relation to this novel virus is indeed because of its great capacity of spread on a global scale and that it has affected the rich as well as the poor, the strong and the weak. It is also because of the negative economic impact caused by this virus on all countries, both rich and poor of them. This could also be due to the embarrassment caused by the quarantine and confinement measures which have paralyzed a lot of sectors and provoked the anger of the populations and generated huge financial crises on a global scale ...
Ultimately, the arrival of this virus and what it caused as global upheaval should be a lesson for everyone but especially for the wealthy and the great powers of the world. This should spur humanity towards instituting better strategies and actions beneficial to our planet and all of humanity. Poverty should be one of the greatest scourges to fight.The land is rich enough to feed everyone.

However, it seems that the most affluent and powerful if infected are able to overcome the disease caused by COVID 19 much better and in a short time. I completely agree with you that the poor have been the most vulnerable and fragile in the face of this virus, but many very rich people have succumbed to covid-19 and their fortunes have not saved them of death. This is also a lesson to be learned.
In addition, as you so well mentioned, priority during this pandemic period has unfortunately been given to the economic aspect in general rather than the humanitarian aspect for saving as many poor people as possible.
