Why do we need a high C rate ( high current density) lithium ion battery?

Many researchers presented rate capability test of battery like as 0.05C to 20C or above that.

In the articles which I read, they just explained high rate battery was needed for electric vehicles and EES.

Except for fast charging, Could you explain the importance of high c-rate batteries?
