I try to investigate the inhibitory effects of six plant extracts on the virus infection but I'm not quite understand about IC50, CC50 and seletivity index (SI). Why do I have to measure it? Can I just use the maximum non-toxic dose (MNTD) to compare the antiviral activity of these six extracts directly? For me, I think it can't be because the higher inhibitory effects of some extracts less toxic than others may come from the higher amount of it, but I'm not sure much about this.

Thanks in advance
