Orgasm is a sporadic response that arises when the brain responds to stimuli of an erotic nature. Due to this mental arousal the brain sends blood to the phallus (causing tumescence) which makes orgasm possible. No one (not even a man) can orgasm from stimulation that is not synchronised with their own state of arousal. So intercourse will never cause orgasm for the receiver. No arousal means no orgasm. So the fact that no one can name any female erotic turn-ons with a lover is significant.

I guess that you should be surprised for getting no answer regarding your thread. As I psychologist, I partly understand this. Sexual issues still continue to be a taboo in many regions across the gobble. Second, sexual issues belong to what in the psychological domain is called one's sphere of personal jurisdiction and hence people may want to keep secret their sphere of personal jurisdiction. Last but not he least, I wonder to what extent your thread goes well with what this public platform waits from us.

Thanks Orlando for commenting. It is usually men who comment even on female sexuality. Women rarely have any interest in sexual issues. I have found over years of research that very few people can articulate one meaningful sentence on the topic of sexuality. Even so-called experts decline to comment on the many contradictions and misconceptions that I highlight. I think this is due to sexual ignorance as much as taboo.

Memory Jane is a signal and the environment. This is again for women, although whether I can legitimately speak for women is another matter.
An example: making love in an area potentially open to public intrusion will create stimulation. Or a couple having made love in certain areas of a house or home-the kitchen for example. Although this is not evidence, female partners have talked endlessly about such 'adventures'. For them I have sensed they feel it reflects risk and lust, specifically for them. Its affirming. I still say for men its mainly accessibility.
Back to your question. We are more active when young because of hormones and this activity is separate from stimulation as the primary cause.
But I am talking about all the boasting about female orgasm. Men think they give them to women. Women want to look attractive to men. No one ever talks about male orgasm. It just happens reliably and regularly! Certainly responsiveness decreases over time, especially for men because their responsiveness is so much higher than women's.
