Calorific value of the nanoparticle based diesel is less comparing neat diesel. When concentration of nanoparticle increases, LCV value decreases, then increases, then again decreases. What is the physics behind this phenomena?
calorific values depend on the change of the heat enthalpy , increasing the fraction of nanoparticals means higher surface energy , so the initial enthalpy increases so the change in it is lowered
this is why it deceases but i do not know why it increases again
The physics behind this phenomena can be caused by the following processes that occur during compression. At relatively low concentrations, the coagulation of nanoparticles (conglomerates formation ) is likely occur during compression, and this causes a decrease in "сalorific" value. Then, as the concentration increases, the formation of such conglomerates becomes unprofitable in terms of minimizing the binding energy of the nanoparticles. As a result, "сalorific" value will increase. Then the conditions change in favor of the formation of conglomerates of other (new) type, and again the "сalorific" value decreases.
according to me nano particle in burning fuel is like a impurity of the fuel, dont have significant contribution to combusion so calorific value of that will be less.
